New details about the murder of Ronni Chasen

The murder of Hollywood publicist,  Ronni Chasen, is looking more and more like a professional hit. Two weeks ago today, Chasen was gunned down in her Mercedes on Whittier Drive, south of Sunset Boulevard, in Beverly Hills at around 12:30 a.m.  A short time earlier, Chasen had attended a Hollywood party celebrating a the movie premiere of the musical, “Burlesque.” Several gunshots hit the 64-year-old press agent and according to The Wrap, a leaked coroner’s report says at least one of those was a hollow-point bullet. Harry Potter wins tough battle at weekend Box Office

The final numbers are in and  “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1” managed to beat back newcomer, “Tangled,” to remain the number one movie in the country, for the second straight week.  The seventh installment of the phenomenal film series conjured up $49 million at theaters last weekend. Big money on the line in the Mega Millions lottery game today. The jackpot is at least $52 million. The Mega Millions is one of the largest lottery games in North America. If you win the big one, you’ll get the choice of taking your winnings in 26 annual installments or the cash value. The odds of hitting the jackpot: 1 in 176 million. Mega Millions draws are at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.

 Nomination period extended until Wednesday Today at 5 p.m. was supposed to be the deadline for all nomination documents  for the 2011 Municipal Elections to be turned into the Burbank City Clerk’s Office. However, that deadline has been extended. A notice of the deadline change to Wednesday, December 1, 2010, appears on the city website. Interestingly, it includes Mayor/City Council member Anja Reinke’s decision not to seek a second term. Reinke reportedly announced her intentions not to run back on November 19. Windy, cold, and more showers possible

Windy and cold on this Sunday in the Media City and same goes for a lot of places in the Southland. There’s a wind advisory in effect from 9 a.m. today until 3 a.m. tomorrow. Stormy Saturday evening in Burbank & most of the Southland

All of a sudden rain is pounding Burbank.  Sure showers were in the forecast, but the weather was mild and sunny for most of the day. Then a cold front rolled into the Southland late this evening. Chilly temperatures tonight, 30s and 40s, in the Media City.   President Barack Obama probably has a very sore lip today, after being injured in a pick-up basketball game, with friends and White House aides, at Fort McNair in Washington DC, yesterday. Flappers Comedy Club on East Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank is putting the word out that it wants to be party central this holiday season. Former “American Idol” Judge, Paula Abdul, just launched a new website today,  that’s looking for folks with talent who want to audition. The site, auditionbooth.com, not only encourages wannabe stars to visit, but also talent scouts, according to The Wrap. Stormy skies over the weekend for Burbank and the rest of the Southland, according to the weather watchers. The rain rolled in late last night. This morning, the major freeways were littered with wrecks, toppled vehicles, and pockets of backed-up traffic.  The forecast is for steady rain, heavy at times, throughout the day and much of the evening. Here we go again. MSNBC TV Host, Joe Scarborough, was suspended today for making donations to eight political campaigns from 2004-to-2008. MSNBC President, Phil Griffin, announced a two-day suspension without pay for Scarborough saying he “… will return to the air on Wednesday, November 24th.” Scarborough is a former Republican congressman from Florida. His punishment was similar to that received by MSNBC host, Keith Olbermann, on November 5. Sony Pictures just launched a search for fans with the right stuff to be in some of its productions. The kick off of this virtual talent search from the entertainment giant was announced in a PRNewswire release today. Update on Hollywood Publicist Ronni Chasen’s murder probe

Beverly Hills Police reportedly have a “working theory” about the murder mystery surrounding the death of well-known Hollywood Publicist, Ronni Chasen.  The Hollywood Reporter posted an article on its website today saying investigators believe the fatal shooting of Chasen was planned and not “the result of road rage or a carjacking gone awry.” This fuels speculation that the attack was a professional hit. City Hall officials are fiercely working to spruce-up and polish Burbank’s image ahead of those all important local election coming up in a few months. Today People Magazine announced it’s Sexiest Man Alive 2010. The lucky hunky guy, Actor Ryan Reynolds. Besides his good looks, Reynolds has a lot of other things going for him these days. He’s married to Actress, Scarlett Johansson, and his acting career is on a roll. Reynolds is getting some buzz for his upcoming role as the superhero, Green Lantern.
