The death of Burbank mayor prompts changes on city council. Mayor Will Rogers died last Thursday after a battle with cancer. His passing creates a vacant seat on the council as well as requiring some other changes. Per a news release from Burbank PIO, Simone McFarland, “According to the City Charter, the Vice Mayor shall act as the Mayor Pro Tempe (Tem) through the May 1 reorganization”meeting. Hazmat situation at Disney Studios Burbank

Burbank Fire units and Hazmat team were spotted rushing through the Buena Vista Street entrance of the Walt Disney Studios today. It happened just before 9 a.m. this morning. ABC-7 reported the problem was acid leaking from an overheated battery on one of the sound stages. Fire personnel contained the spill and treated “eight employees complaining of minor symptoms,” according to a news release from Simone McFarland, Burbank public information officer.  Apparently the fumes from the leak caused some distress, but no one was transported to the hospital. New Burbank Target opening tomorrow April 4

Final preparations are wrapping up at the newest Target in Burbank. The store at 1033 North Hollywood Way is set for a soft opening Wednesday, April 4. Doors will open to the public at 7 a.m. tomorrow. The grand opening celebration is this Sunday, April 8.
