Burbank, California – A suspect has been arrested and charged after sexually assaulting a
minor walking home from school.
On Friday, April 19, 2024, at approximately 3:45 p.m., police officers were dispatched to the
area of Victory Boulevard and Alameda Avenue in regards to a possible assault. The victim, a
13-year-old female, reported that while she was walking home after school, she was
approached by an adult male who made sexually inappropriate comments to her and grabbed
her buttocks under her shorts.
The victim provided the suspect’s description and his last known direction. Officers were able
to locate the suspect a short distance away and placed him under arrest.
The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Tyrone Del Mar, a transient.
Mr. Del Mar was booked for felony sexual battery on a child. Today, April 23, 2024, the Los
Angeles County District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and filed one felony count of lewd
acts on a child under 14 years of age, and one misdemeanor count of child annoying. Mr. Del
Mar will be arraigned today and remains in custody on $100,000.00 bond.
