Media City Groove is the reboot of A Writer’s Groove, my personal blog that went live in June 2008. In two years, that blog grew significantly in readership and scope. In July of 2010, Media City Groove launched with a familiar flavor and content, along with a slew of new features. Media City Groove’s focus includes news, entertainment, opinion, and whatever is of interest to the two Burbanks: the internationally known media city and the vibrant Los Angeles County community.

As the founder, editor, and publisher, I write almost all of the posts and shoot many of the photos on the site. Before becoming a freelance writer in 2004, I was a staff newswriter and occasional field producer for the local NBC-TV station. During my 20-plus years in the television news business, I was involved in the coverage of a wide spectrum of stories and events.

In early 2007, I started as a featured blogger on Valley News, a citizen journalism website, that was run by the Los Angeles Daily News. During the year-and-a-half I wrote for that site, several of my posts and photos were picked up and published in the print edition of the Daily News.
