Hollywood Buzz: WME fires employees over a controversial e-mail

Fronnie Lewis
Monday, April 19th, 2010

Probably a lot of talk and cautious e-mailing in Tinsletown and Media City today about the reported  WME  reprimands and firings over a farewell e-mail sent by an employee. On Deadline.com/Hollywood Nikki Finke posted Marcus Washington’s good-bye to the New York office of William Morris Endeavor on Sunday, April 11, 2010.

Apparently the WME management went ballistic and launched a witch hunt for the culprit who leaked the internal e-mail to Finke who says four employees were fired and around 75 reprimanded. This is not the first time agency bosses have tried to track down a leak to Finke’s site. Finke has some choice words for these entertainment honchos. Plenty of comments and chatter about this on Deadline.com/Hollywood.

  1. DixieFlyer Says:

    Dear Miss Lewis,
Maybe this matter should be referred to the Burbank City Attorney’s Office!
After all, Ari could file a Police Report,a secretary(admin Assistant)could hand a copy off in the restroom, somebody else could write it in lipstick on the mirror, and Semichorus could post it on his/her (long hair, you know) Blog.
Just let ‘em track that one down.

  2. Fronnie Says:

    Dixie,

Very interesting and amusing suggestion. I gotta say, I read that e-mail and thought it rather tame. The reaction from WME’s Head Honcho Ari Emanuel to fire and reprimand employees suggests the company has something to hide in its treatment of Marcus Washington. Kind of like Burbank City officials’ reaction to launch an investigation into who provided me with information about that controversial bus accident involving school children; and the threat made against me by Greg Herrmann for reporting and asking questions about that accident. The reaction of Burbank City officials suggests they have something to hide in regards to that accident.

  3. Burbank Taxpayer Says:

Oh here we go again….. The gad flies doing their usual complaining.

If you were threatened then file a stupid complaint. You and your following lack of credibiity hurts your cause.

  4. DixieFlyer Says:

    Dear Miss Fronnie,

Maybe, Mr. Hermann will be able to offer an answer at tonite’s City Council meeting.

He could offer some answers about the accident and THEN,
he could explain why his information was originally inaccurate. THEN, he could explain the intent of his remarks regarding the City Attorney’s Office.

The “credibility” question rests with the staff to resolve.

The City Council meeting provides an opportunity for Hermann, Flad & Barlow to clear up this matter.

    Burbank Taxpayer,

You need to get a life. Maybe start your own blog. You don’t like my blog nor those who comment here. So don’t bother visiting.
Oh, I don’t have a “cause.” I report on what interests me and I do it on this blog.
