The Mega Millions jackpot took another leap — this time to $76 million. On election Tuesday — no one managed to match all the correct digits: 15, 22, 23, 48, 55 and the Mega Ball 31. However, one California player did score all but the Mega Ball — and that ticket is worth $226, 991.
The next draw is tomorrow, Friday, February 25, at 8 p.m.
More big money lottery news –Media City winner steps forward

The owner of that $10 million SuperLotto Plus ticket is no longer a mystery. Yesterday, Hollywood prop maker/Burbank resident, Brian McMahon, cashed in the ticket he bought for last Saturday’s SuperLotto Plus game at La Paz Liquor on West Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank.
McMahon is planning to “have a great life,” buy a new home, a new truck, and put aside s0me of his winnings for his family. He told lottery officials: “I want to make the money grow and secure my children’s future and my grandchildren’s future.”
The couple that owns La Paz Liquor, Daniel and Jin Roh, got $50,000 for selling that winning SuperLotto Plus ticket.

The money is stacking up once again in the Mega Millions lottery game. No one picked all of last Tuesday’s winning numbers: 17, 18, 24, 35, 39, and the Mega Ball 18. That pumped the jackpot up to $52 million.
One ticket, bought in California, got all but one of those lucky numbers right. That ticket was missing the correct Mega Ball number. That ticket is worth $403, 806 — not bad for a dollar investment.
Th next draw is tomorrow, Friday, February 18 at 8 p.m.

The Mega Millions jackpot appears to be headed into that lottery fever zone again. No ticket held all of the winning numbers — so the jackpot grew to $77 million. The lucky digits from yesterday’s draw: 5, 8, 31, 46, 50 and the Mega Ball 4.
Two California players did score a nice payback from that game. Those tickets missed out on the big one — by one number — the Mega Ball. Each ticket is worth $118, 692. That extra cash could ease some of the financial pains of trying to make ends meet in this economy.
The next Mega Millions draw is this Friday, January 28 at 8.p.m.

Two California players missed winning yesterday’s Mega Millions jackpot by one number — the Mega Ball. However, each of their tickets is worth a stack of money — $111,461. Since no one scored all of the winning numbers yesterday, the Mega Millions lottery jackpot got bumped up to $63 Million. The next draw is Tuesday, January 25, 8 p.m.

The second largest Mega Millions jackpot is history. In yesterday’s draw for a $380 million money pot — two tickets — one in Idaho and the other in Washington state — had all six of the winning numbers. Those lucky digits are: 4, 8, 15, 25, 47, and the Mega Ball 42. Mega Millions is played in California and 41 other states.
Yesterday morning, the double M jackpot soared to $355 million. By game time last night, lottery fever had pumped that jackpot up to $380 million. Even though, no one in California won the major prize – 10 players picked all of the winning numbers except the Mega Ball. Each of those hot tickets is worth a nice $209, 300.
The next draw is Friday, January 7, at 8 p.m. The jackpot has shrunk to $12 million — not huge, but still plenty of dough to take care of a lot of money worries in this struggling economy.

Attorney General Jerry Brown will be moving to the governor’s office very soon. Brown has been declared the winner over his strong Republican and big-money challenger, Meg Whitman, in yesterday’s General Election.
The latest figures from the Secretary of State’s Office give Brown 53.7 percent of the vote and and Whitman 41.3 percent. A check of the statewide voting map shows Whitman won in the most counties — but the counties that Brown carried gave him the most votes.
Democrat/San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom, is the next Lieutenant Governor. Newsom received 50.1 percent of the vote, while his nearest challenger, Republican, Abel Maldonado got 39.4 per cent.
Locally, in the 43rd State Assembly District race, Incumbent and Democrat Mike Gatto trounced his Republican opponent, Sunder Ramani, 66.2 percent to 33.8 percent.
In the U.S. Congressional 27th District, Incumbent and Democrat, Brad Sherman, soundly defeated Repubican contender, Mark Reed, 65.2 percent to 34.8 percent.
In the U.S. Congressional 29th District, Incumbent and Democrat Adam Shiff held onto his seat with 65.2 percent of the vote. His Republican challenger, John Colbert won 31.7 percent and Libertarian, William Cushing, got 3.1 percent.
The state measure, Proposition 19, that would have legalized marijuana failed 53.9 percent to 46.1 percent.
These are semi-official results. The counties have until December 3, 2010 to report their final tallies including mail-by-mail and provisional ballots to the Secretary of State’s Office.

A scary Halloween statistic is out about traffic accidents in California involving pedestrians. Allstate Insurance Company reportedly conducted a review of claims involving pedestrians over the past three years in the state and discovered a dramatic increase in October accidents around trick or treat time.
The insurer revealed in a PR Newswire release that its figures show the number of people hit by cars in California jumps 25 percent on Halloween as compared to the rest of October.
Allstate is offering up three Halloween tips and two include texting!
Don’t Text and Walk
Children and parents should focus on traffic and not texting when trick-or-treating. Keep your eyes up and have an adult or an older, responsible youth supervise children. Plan and discuss the route trick-or-treaters intend to follow.
Don’t Text and Drive
Focus on the road, not your cell phone. Neighborhoods that don’t normally have pedestrian or bicycle traffic may experience an increase in activity on Halloween. Children are excited and may forget to stop, look, and listen before crossing the street.
Don’t Drink and Drive
If you are attending a Halloween party, designate a driver. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reminds revelers that no costume can conceal a drunk driver.
Despite the startling statistic for Halloween, Allstate says December 10 is the most dangerous day of the year for Californians on foot near traffic.

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot just got super-sized. No one matched all of the winning numbers in last Tuesday’s draw, so the jackpot blew-up again. It’s now hovering at around $101 million. I get the feeling lottery tickets are going to be selling fast today, come rain or shine.
Oh, last Tuesday’s game was not a total wash in California. Two tickets had all of the winning numbers, except the Mega Ball. Each is worth a cool $252,588. That could add a little cheer to the upcoming holiday season.
A massage therapist out in Canoga Park has cashed in one of those quarter- million dollar Mega Millions ticket. Tracy Evans told lottery officials she usually wagers only $1 at a time on the lottery, but felt lucky and bought $6 worth of tickets. One of those tickets hit it big for Evans, who registered for nursing school a few days ago.
Evans says her winnings will allow her to “ go to school..” without worrying about how to pay the bills.
Tuesday’s winning numbers: 2, 9, 14, 37, 42, and the Mega Ball 41.
The next draw is today at 8 p.m.
