While some moms were being honored with pampering treatments like a trip to the day spa, or preparing for special engagements with family and friends, or just taking it easy, Larssen was trying to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Burbank & Greater East Valley. Los Angeles Times says Trump unfit to be president

Billionaire-turned-reality-TV-star-now-presidential-candidate, Donald Trump, was slammed really hard today by the Los Angeles Times. In a scathing editorial the paper called Trump “not fit to be president of the United States.” Despite leading the pack of GOP presidential contenders by a sizable margin in the delegate count the Times has this searing assessment of the billionaire: “The reality is that Trump has no experience whatsoever in government, interacting with the machinery of state only as a supplicant. He has shamefully little knowledge of the issues facing the country and the... Read More →

It was practically a full house at the city council candidates’ forum in Woody’s Cafeteria at Woodbury University last Wednesday, January 28. Much of the candidates’ opening statements and views expressed were repeats or pretty close to what they said during the recent League of Women Voters of Glendale/Burbank forum.  However, there were some moments that set this forum apart from the previous one. At various times during the forum, candidates David Nos and Chris Rizzotti chose to stand or walk in front of the audience to make their... Read More →

Once again, Michael Jackson is king of the top-earning dead celebrities. Over the last 12 months, Jackson’s estate has raked in $140 million, according to Forbes. Last year, Jackson topped the same list with $160 million. Not bad, for an entertainer who died from a drug overdose back on June 25, 2009. Some other celebrities who passed away long before Jackson are still earning big bucks as well. Taking second on the list with $55 million, Elvis who died in August of 1977. Presley... Read More →

City Buzz: Burbank Leader, Glendale News-Press, and Tribune Publishing announcement

Demand for the Burbank Leader and its sister newspaper the Glendale News-Press, is apparently outpacing the supply of single issues of the newspapers available for readers. You have to wonder if this situation is going to get better or worse in light of yesterday’s announcement about the long-awaited spinoff of Tribune Publishing by the media giant Tribune Company. The spinoff is set to occur next month on August 4. Tribune Publishing includes several major newspapers, among them the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles... Read More →
