“Mother Rabbit” a memoir set in the Playboy empire

"Mother Rabbit" is based on the real-life adventure of a Bunny Mother at a Playboy Club back in the 1960's, during the struggle between the old school mores and the new feminist views of women. The memoir is a collaborative effort between two sisters. Alyce Bonura who lived the adventure, then used it as a stepping stone to an MBA and a career as a Southland financial and tax expert. A town hall meeting with the Burbank City Council. The public is invited to this open forum. Council members will be on hand to respond to questions, issues, and concerns from the community. City Manager Mark Scott and city staffers will be there to field questions, too.

  It's fall. A good time to get into the composting groove. Check out one of the Composting During Droughts workshops. Learn how yard clippings can build soil, hold water, and save you money. Workshops are free and family friendly. Also, if you're a Burbank resident you can get a free compositing bin. City of Burbank is sponsoring the compositing workshops. The next one is coming up soon. Volunteers will be collecting food donations at local markets in the Media City. Volunteers are needed. Also, you can donate food items. Youth volunteers can earn service hours. As part of a long standing traditiion, the Burbank Optimist Club is sponsoring a Halloween carnival at Vickroy Park on the spookiest night of the year. More than 300 ghosts, gobblins, and trick or treaters are expected. There will be chances to play carnival games and win treats. It's a fun and safe way to enjoy Halloween.
