A 78 year-old North Hollywood man is due to appear in court later this week as a suspect in the molestation of a child in Burbank. On Sunday, October, 4, the Burbank Police were notified of the situation: “…a witness came to the Burbank Police Station and described seeing a child being molested in the backseat of a vehicle that was parked in the Vallarta Market parking lot, 10950 Sherman Way,” according to BPD Sergeant Claudio Losacco in a news release.

Police were able to track down a 10 year-old girl who reportedly “corroborated the events described by the witness” and confirmed “she was in fact a victim of sex acts against her.” Officers arrested a suspect who turns out to be the girl’s biological grandfather, Guillermo Rincon-Lugo. Sgt Losacco says, “Mr. Rincon-Lugo was interviewed and made admissions related to the molestation.”

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has filed two counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 years of age against Rincon-Lugo. He was arraigned Last Tuesday and is due back in court this Thursday. October 15. Rincon-Lugo is being held on $200, 000 bail.
