Earthquake! Did you feel it?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I know it was not the “Big One” we’ve all been dreading here in Southern California, but yesterday’s quake felt like a major shaker to me. So what if the U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude was a measly 2.9. I’m telling you, when it struck at around 3:58 p.m. yesterday afternoon, I thought, uh-oh, this is going to be a wild ride.

First, I hear the roar and then came the rough shaking of the house. I was at the computer and literally grabbed the corner’s of the table to have something to hold onto. The epicenter reportedly was about three miles north of nearby La Crescenta.  Well, it felt like the epicenter was right under my Burbank home or at least on my block.

No damage in my place. Putting things in perspective, I have to admit as earthquakes go, yesterday’s rocker was probably on the lightweight end of the scale of what we get here in the Southland. A little reminder that we live in earthquake country.  The kind of reminder I don’t need for say, another couple of years or so. However, I doubt it will be that long before I experience another quake.

I felt it and the first thought to cross my mind was the Police Headquarters there on 3rd street finnaly just fell down. I think when that thing falls to the ground it will have that same intensity of shake around the city.

I take every little quake as a reminder to be prepared, check my supplies and make sure I am ready because I don’t expect any help from the city, they are not really prepared for anything at all. One day a really big one hits, levels lots of Burbank and the people at City Hall won’t have a clue what to do, it will be worse than Newe Orleans here so make sure YOU ARE PREPARED.

Things are so badly falling down the center for disease control should be called in.

Did you see last night the way that Golonski dude put down Mrs Espinoza ? That dude is an arogant jerk off.

Well it really irritated me watching last night as Councilman spewed one tirade after another. His cutting in on Ester Espinosa was over the top, to me it showed he just can’t stand someone else being Mayor and incharge of the meetings. I would hope that Mayor Bric sits the little boy down and says look you no longer run the meetings. When you did I sat and let you have your way and now you will sit and allow me my turn to run these meetings is that understood.

Councilman Golonski is a long time bully as he sits on teh council and interrupts and threatens people and this really must come to an end as it makes all of them look petty and small.
