A brush fire is burning for a second day in the hills above Brand Park in Glendale. The fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. yesterday and quickly grew to 150 acres. A plume of smoke and ash from that fire could be seen for miles, especially in nearby Burbank. Five hikers in the area were rescued. Three were treated for dehydration.

Glendale Fire was joined in battling the blaze by Burbank Fire,  Los Angeles City, and Los Angeles County  agencies. No homes or structures have been damaged No evacuations, either.  Today reportedly a crew of a 100 is fighting the fire on the ground. Fire officials say the brush fire is 30 percent contained. No word yet, on when they’ll have full containment nor on what sparked the fire.
