The anti-crime event, National Night Out, was celebrated in the Media City with a bash at Burbank Police Headquarters as well as block parties in a number of neighborhoods last night. Freelance photographer, Greg Reyna, shot these pictures of the BPD bash held in the back parking lot of the facility on Tuesday August 5.

Speaking of Parking & Parking Lots:

What’s the story on Romancing the Bean, their lack of parking, plethora of customers and

    negative impact on neighboring businesses?

Comments have circulated that City Staff have stalled neighbors for a “study” and fail to

address current problems as they arise.

What’s the inside “scoop” on this, Miss Fronnie?

    Dixie,

Yes, I have heard about the parking issue surrounding Romancing the Bean. This may be a case of allowing a business to open without adequate parking. According to one of the business owners, some kind exception for parking was made for Romancing the Bean — allowing it to move into that space without adequate parking for an eatery/cafe/coffee shop.

As more customers discover Romancing the Bean, it’s putting a lot of pressure on neighboring businesses. Also, the parking situation is exacerbated by employees of the businesses who insist on taking up parking on Magnolia Boulevard and nearby cross streets. Employees should be willing to walk a block or two for street parking or parking in the nearby public lots.

City staff needs to address this issue.
