Today the death toll from superstorm Sandy in the U.S. stands at 96 and could still go higher. Four days after Sandy slammed into the East Coast and began a slow march across the northeast, more than three million are still without power and there are reports of shortages of gasoline, food, and other necessities.

On NBC tonight, “Hurricane Sandy Coming Together,” a live benefit telethon for the victims, begins at 8 p.m. NBC’s Matt Lauer will host and the celebrity line up includes Christina Aguilera, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and Sting. More details here.

Of special Note should be taken that Hard Working Members of the IBEW from our very own Burbank Water &Power are back East lending a hand where needed.

Hope we can welcome them home safely, real soon.

    Dixie,

Thanks for the info. Let me give a shout out from Media City Groove to all those IBEW members and other Burbank folks helping the victims of superstorm Sandy. Way to go!
