The hot button issue of a replacement terminal for the Bob Hope Airport will be discussed at two city council meetings this week.  Tomorrow at the regular scheduled city council meeting, members will have what Mayor Bob Frutos calls an “open-minded” discussion of the city’s proposal.

On Wednesday, July 15, there will be the special joint meeting of the city council and the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority at the Buena Vista Library 300 North Buena Vista Street. Last Monday, the city council held a special meeting to discuss the agenda and format of the joint meeting. This will be an opportunity for the public to hear presentations of proposals from both sides and weigh in with their questions and concerns.  Both proposals are posted on the city website.

The joint meeting begins at 6 p.m. Also, it will be televised live. Burbank Public Information Officer, Drew Sugars, confirmed that today:”… we are planning on airing it live on Charter, AT&T and live streaming with a replay scheduled for 10am the next day (7/16). It will also be archived on the Granicus system.”

There can be no substantive discussion until AFTER it’s put to a vote, per Measure B. This is a disgrace

There were more details revealed at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Even a “new & improved” agreement from the Airport.

The more we hear, the more we realize the depth of these Closed Sessions.

The mere word easement has taken on a whole new meaning.

The “substantive” discussions have been occurring for quite some time.

We’ve finally smoked them out of the backroom.

The “new & improved” agreement from the airport authority appears to have caught the city officials off guard. A lot of time was spent at last night’s council meeting wondering about the content of the proposal the airport authority will present at the Wednesday night meeting. City officials shouldn’t spend a lot of time wringing their hands about that. Instead, they should be working on presenting “their proposal” in the best way possible to the public. We deserve to hear both sides. Yes, we deserve to hear what these officials have been working on in those closed sessions.

    Thanks Mrs. Fronnie,

    Your points are good.

It’s now 1230 pm and the Leader is yet to report on the topic of tonight’s Joint Meeting.

The last minute 19 page proposal should be of interest to Burbank,Glendale & Pasadena.

Who knows what the LA Times is up to, or not?

Once again, Blogs such as yours are even more important.
