Celebrities joined family and friends for a private funeral service in New York yesterday for acclaimed actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman. The actor was found dead in his West Village apartment last Sunday, February 2. Media reports say Hoffman was discovered on the bathroom floor, with a needle in his arm. An autopsy was “inconclusive,” so the medical examiner says they will have to wait for toxicology test results.
The 46 year-old Hoffman won an Oscar for his lead role in “Capote” (2005) and was nominated three times for Best Supporting Actor. Hoffman was known to struggle with drug addiction.
Hoffman leaves behind long-term partner, Mimi O’Donnell, and their three young children.
