A bigger crowd than expected showed up at field #1 at George Izay Park to watch the historic solar eclipse on Monday, August 21. Hosted by the Joslyn Adult Center, the supply of eclipse viewing glasses went fast. Burbank City Council Member, Sharon Springer, was seen mingling in the gathering and offering to share her glasses.
The eclipse viewing party began at 9 a.m. and from then on most eyes were searching the sky for the celestial spectacular.
Young viewers got a kick out the sky show as well.
Some residents held their own viewing party in their front yards.
Many who happened to be at work took a break to watch the eclipse.
One resident observed: “The solar eclipse has brought the country together.” Apparently it did, for a little while.
