NBC dumps Donald Trump. The network released a statement saying it fired the Donald because of negative remarks he made about Mexicans, when he launched his presidential campaign earlier this month on Tuesday, June 16. Trump’s race for president is probably more of a problem for the network than the derogatory comments.  No matter. NBC fired Trump. More here on USA Today.

TV talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, launched a new venture this week. DeGeneres has had a lot of success as a pitch person for several products like CoverGirl cosmetics. Now she’s going out on her own with a fashion line and some signature homewares. More about  ED on Forbes.

Trending on Twitter and popping up all over the Internet today — Misty Copeland named a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theater. Copeland is the first African American female to land that position in the 75 year history of the company. More on People
