AFI Life Achievement Award 2012 goes to actress Shirley MacLaine

Hollywood superstar, Shirley MacLaine, is the recipient of the AFI Life Achievement award for 2012, according to a PR Newswire release.  Maclaine has won more than 40 awards including best actress for “Terms of Endearment” (1983). She has appeared in numerous films and  is best known for her acting in “The Apartment” (1960), “Sweet Charity” (1961), “The Turning Point” (1977), and “Steel Magnolias” (1989).
