Burbank Sears joins campaign to help homeless pets

Sears in Burbank has opened its doors to some homeless pets. The retailer is partnering with the Burbank Animal Shelter in its “You can’t buy love, adopt it” campaign. “Over 2,500 animals come through the Burbank Animal Shelter ever year. Our goal with this new campaign is to encourage people to adopt pets. We are excited that Sears is helping us kick-off this campaign,” according to Burbank Animal Shelter administrative analyst Karen Wilcox in a news release. Bobcat spotted in the Burbank area

Freelance photographer Terje “Terry” Canavarro had a close encounter with a bobcat in the Burbank area. Terry took these photos of the wildcat in brush, above Forest Lawn Drive, near the Oakwood Apartments complex. He says he spotted this bobcat prowling  around yesterday morning.  It showed little fear of him, but just “…  went on with its business.” This is an unusual meeting — since bobcats are nocturnal, therefore, rarely seen by humans.
