Burbank Central Library to be closed for an additional week

The  doors at the Burbank Central Library are closed for at least another week. The Central Library was supposed to reopen yesterday after a one-week closure reportedly for some updates and repairs. An email notice was sent out yesterday advising the public that the new target date for the library’s reopening is now Monday, August 24. The Central Library at 110 North Glenoaks Boulevard was shutdown last week  to prepare  for upgrades to the material management system, which include credit card payments, self check-out, and improved security on... Burbank Election News: Candidates forums, election ballots, and Golonski mailer

The Burbank General Municipal Election is Tuesday, April 9, less than three weeks away. The Burbank Association of Realtors is offering a free opportunity to hear the candidates discuss the issues and concerns of the residents in the Media City at two forums. There are two seats up for election on the Burbank Unified School District Board. The candidates are: Larry Applebaum, Steve Ferguson, Charlene “Char” Tabet, and David Dobson. Long time activist and political strategist, Steve Ferguson, has kicked off his campaign for a seat on the Burbank School Board. Ferguson first announced his intentions publicly on this blog last month, following his controversial defeat for the appointment by the Burbank Board of Education to fill the remaining term of Debbie Kukta — who stepped down to take the interim position of city treasurer.
