Ex-Burbank school employee arrested on sex charges

A former Burroughs High School employee is facing several sex charges allegedly involving two female students. Burbank Police arrested 23 year-old, Clarke Surrey, of Glendale last Thursday, June 4. BPD reportedly began an investigation after receiving a tip, according to a news release. Surrey is accused of having sex with two students, between the ages of 15 and 17, “from approximately 2011 to 2015.”  Multiple incidents allegedly occurred off campus and the release claims Surrey “may have taken photos and videos at the time of some of the incidents.”... Burbank PD cracking down on traffic violators

Burbank Police motor officers appeared to be out in force and on the look out for traffic violators. Around 7:45 a.m.I saw two traffic stops on Buena Vista Street near Olive Avenue.  “That is one of our problematic intersection for traffic collisions around commute time,” BPD Sergeant Adam Cornils told  Media City Groove in an email. Burbank Scene: Pancake breakfast & Police and Fire Service Day

Big doings in Downtown Burbank today.  Kicking things off, the 51st annual Burbank Community YMCA Pancake Breakfast. This is chance to enjoy a great breakfast of flapjacks, sausage, fruit, juice, and coffee, while helping a good cause. Burbank PD arrest suspect in shooting incident

Burbank Police arrested a suspect today in connection with a shooting incident in front of the Town Center Mall entrance at 201 East Magnolia Boulevard. Apparently the shooting was part of some kind of confrontation involving several males. Happy St. Paddy’s Day

Go ahead, celebrate the day of the green, but be careful. Burbank Police Department is beefing up patrols. The BPD announced in a recent news release it will be “… deploying two roving DUI patrols this St. Patrick’s Day looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs.” Also, regular police officers will be on the alert today for buzzed or drunk drivers. So don’t push your luck .. drive sober.

Suspect being held on $1 million bail after attack in Burbank

  A 29 year-old Santa Clarita man is being held on $1 million bail today, after being arrested by Burbank Police in connection with an assault last night. The attack occurred in the 700 block of  Roselli Street at around 11 p.m. The victims, three unidentified females, ages 21, 41, and 67.  “All hospitalized in serious but stable condition with cuts/stab wounds,” according to Burbank Police Sergeant Adam Cornils. The suspect involved in that stand-off with police in Burbank  last Tuesday is being held on a $140,000 bail in the Los Angeles County jail. Tense stand-off drama in Burbank ends peacefully

A tense stand-off drama played out on a street in Burbank this afternoon, when a suspect in a reported stolen car “refused to exit the vehicle,” according to Burbank Police Lieutenant, Eddie Ruiz. The incident began at around 2:38 p.m., when a Burbank PD patrol officer pulled over a 2013 silver Honda Fit after a license check revealed it had been reported stolen in West Los Angeles last night. Woman found dead after fire in Burbank apartment

Burbank Police and Fire investigators today are working to determine the cause of an apartment fire which apparently killed a woman. It happened in the 200 block of East Alameda Avenue yesterday. Burbank police officer who rescued fire victim identified

The Burbank police officer, who probably saved the life of an elderly man in that dramatic fire rescue yesterday, has been identified. Officer Brent Fekety arrived on the scene shortly after 9 a.m. with several other members of the Burbank PD. The home at 326 South Griffith Park Drive was on fire. No agenda nor  guest speakers, according to a news release and a posting on the BPD website. Burbank residents and merchants are invited to drop by for a free cup of Joe and a “… chance to ask questions or voice any concerns.”

  UPDATED: October 21, 2014 Burbank Police are now calling this a case domestic violence that ended with attempted murder and a suicide. Police discovered a 50 year-old man, who had been fatally shot, in the cab of a tractor- trailer at Affordable Storage in Burbank early yesterday afternoon. A 47 year-old female was found wounded nearby. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. The Home Depot hacker attack is turning into a really bad nightmare for the nation’s largest home improvement retailer and many of its customers. Reports are circulating on the Internet about thieves using credit card information stolen from Home Depot to “… buy prepaid cards, electronics and even groceries,” according to MoneyWatch. Some scary moments in front of Porto’s Bakery and Cafe in Burbank this morning. A light tan sedan slammed into a traffic signal light pole a few feet from the entrance of the very busy establishment. A suspect in connection with two suspicious fires in Burbank is being held on $50,000 bail today. Earlier this week, the  fires broke out in two trash dumpsters within a block of each other. Mountain lion alert for Burbank

Burbank Police have issue an alert following two “separate mountain lion sightings” in residential areas this week. The wild cat was seen in neighborhoods near the edge of the Verdugo mountains. Burbank Police Sergeant, John Dilbert, is blaming the drought for the problem. Sgt. Man found shot to death in Burbank parking garage

Burbank Police today are investigating the death of a man who was found in a Downtown Burbank parking garage. The structure at 651 North San Fernando is near the Chevy’s and California Pizza Kitchen restaurants. Police responded to the scene early this morning and discovered a male victim in a vehicle “.. in a secluded area,” according to a Burbank PD news release.
