“Parks and Recreation,” “Homeland,” and “Game of Thrones” among Peabody winners

NBC’s popular comedy series, “Parks and Recreation,” is among the winners of the 71st Annual Peabody Awards, one of the most prestigious honors in electronic media. The list, announced today, includes other entertainment programs such as the Showtime’s terrorism drama, “Homeland,” and the dark fantasy-epic on HBO, “Game of Thrones.” The George Foster Peabody Awards recognizes excellence and distinguished achievement by radio and television stations, networks, webcasters, producing organizations, and individuals. The awards for the best in electronic media 2011 will be formally presented at a luncheon ceremony...
