It’s now up to you go vote!  November 8 is Election Day. The polls are open. The ballots and booths are ready. Election 2016 has been a real headache for many voters. Campaign 2016: Clinton and Trump face off for second debate

The second presidential debate of 2016 has the potential to be more interesting and an even bigger test for embattled GOP nominee, Donald Trump. A lot of drama and surprises since the first face-off between the candidates last month. It is widely believed, Clinton trounced Trump in that first debate. Now, many see the second debate as an opportunity for Clinton to score a knockout. It’s been a tough week for Trump. Last Monday, during the one and only V.P. debate, GOP running mate,... Campaign 2016: Debates, polls, and the candidates

As  the vice-presidential candidates, Democrat, Tim Kaine, and Republican, Mike Pence, prepare for their first and only debate tonight, there is still plenty of fallout from the debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton last month. The presidential debate or rumble at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York back on September 26, was a much-anticipated face off between two candidates carrying their own bag of negatives and positives. When it was over, many — not including Trump, felt Clinton managed to downplay her negatives and come out the winner of the... Read More →

Election Day for the California Primary 2016

Finally, Election Day for the California Primary 2016. Almost every day for the past few weeks, my mailbox has been stuffed with expensive flyers and political campaign literature clamoring  for my vote. Political endorsements were still filling up my voice mail yesterday. Late Monday, the results from the Puerto Rico primary came in. After seeing those results, some in the media like CNN declared Hillary Clinton had “clinched” the Democratic presidential nomination with 1, 812 pledged delegates and 572 superdelegates for a total of 2, 384. Not... Read More →

Candidate for State Senate District 25 Phlunte Riddle on Mother's Day

Mother’s Day: Phlunte Riddle candidate for State Senate

I wanted to take a quick break from knocking on doors to wish all the moms out there Happy Mother’s Day for tomorrow. Even after passing, my mother continues to be an inspiration to me. She had a fire for justice within her that led her to leave the South at the age of 17 and then went on to raise three daughters while working two jobs. She should be a saint because we were a handful. I still take her lessons of kindness, hard work, and helping... Read More →

Latest poll shows Trump a turn-off for many women

While billionaire/reality TV star, Donald Trump, has won support from female voters in most of the GOP primaries and caucuses so far, apparently there are a lot of women out there not feeling the love for the irreverent presidential candidate. This month in a Reuters/Ipsos Poll, half of the women surveyed said they had a “very unfavorable” opinion of Trump — that is up from 40 percent in a similar poll taken last October. This survey was conducted from March 1-15 and involved 5,400 respondents. The poll may... Read More →

Los Angeles Times says Trump unfit to be president

Billionaire-turned-reality-TV-star-now-presidential-candidate, Donald Trump, was slammed really hard today by the Los Angeles Times. In a scathing editorial the paper called Trump “not fit to be president of the United States.” Despite leading the pack of GOP presidential contenders by a sizable margin in the delegate count the Times has this searing assessment of the billionaire: “The reality is that Trump has no experience whatsoever in government, interacting with the machinery of state only as a supplicant. He has shamefully little knowledge of the issues facing the country and the... Read More →
