Compost event in Burbank today with freebies and giveaways

Today you can learn the right moves for recycling waste materials into rich environmentally-friendly compost at the Burbank Recycle Center at 500 South Flower Street. It starts at 8 a.m. runs until noon,  with a compost workshop set to get underway at 10 a.m. The event will feature giveaways, including free compost bins for eligible Media City residents. Burbank City Council approves new budget and utility fee hikes Last night the Burbank City Council green-lighted a $785 million budget for fiscal year 2010-2011. The tally  4-to-1, with only Councilman David Gordon voting against the budget.
