Burbank breaks another heat record on first day of summer. The temperature has been rising since sunrise in Burbank. Before 9 .a.m. it was in the 90s. An hour or so later, the Media City smashed another record with a temperature of 107, according to the National Weather Service. Yes, it will probably get even hotter before the sun sets! Starting today, folks in Burbank will get some relief from the heat wave. Two of the city’s libraries will have longer hours through Sunday, providing cool places to escape hot temperatures in the 90s and even triple digits. Fans and air conditioners were going full blast all over Burbank today. The mercury soar to a blazing 100 degrees.
