Burbank breaks another heat record on first day of summer. The temperature has been rising since sunrise in Burbank. Before 9 .a.m. it was in the 90s. An hour or so later, the Media City smashed another record with a temperature of 107, according to the National Weather Service. Yes, it will probably get even hotter before the sun sets! Two Burbank libraries designated cooling centers during heat wave

Starting today, folks in Burbank will get some relief from the heat wave. Two of the city’s libraries will have longer hours through Sunday, providing cool places to escape hot temperatures in the 90s and even triple digits. The temperatures are soaring in the Southland and that has prompted an excessive heat watch for Los Angeles County. Today in Burbank the high reach 100! Extreme heat in Burbank– cooling centers open

Fans and air conditioners were going full blast all over Burbank today. The mercury soar to a blazing 100 degrees. The high humid — over 50 percent at times — made going outside difficult to bear.  We’re used to dry heat — not the sticky humid conditions we had today.  More of the same ahead, at least through tomorrow.   Due to the extreme heat,  Burbank city officials opened three cooling centers today.   We’re in a heat wave! Yesterday the thermometer shot up to 108 in Burbank. At 11 p.m. last night, it was still a very warm 81. More extreme temps are expected in B-town through the weekend.
