Vice-President Joe Biden continues his visit in the Southland today. Yesterday, the Veepee snarled traffic in Burbank with a late afternoon visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show at the Warner Bros. Studios. Today more headaches for Southland motorist as Biden heads out to West Los Angeles College in Ladera Heights. DreamWorks Animation linked to wage-fixing conspiracy scandal

DreamWorks Animation, one of the major players in the local entertainment industry, has been linked to a wage-fixing conspiracy, according to a post on NikkiFinke.com. The Glendale-based studio along with Pixar and Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic, reportedly made a secret agreement not to poach each others employees in what amounted to an alleged “wage-fixing cartel.”  DreamWorks Animation has approximately two thousand employees. Actress Anna Kendrick signs on for DreamWorks’ Troll movie

Actress Anna Kendrick has a new gig. Glendale-based company, DreamWorks Animation, has announced the selection of Kendrick to play upbeat princess,”Poppy,” in a  new comedy musical, “Trolls.” Kendrick received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the Broadway musical “High Society” in 1998. She got an Oscar nomination for her supporting role in the movie, “Up in the Air” (2009). Kendrick really showed off her singing chops in the musical romantic comedy, “Pitch Perfect” (2012). Open casting call for new DreamWorks movie

Another big search for new talent. Entertainment heavyweight DreamWorks is holding an open casting call for a lead role in its upcoming film, “Welcome To People,” starring Elizabeth Banks and Chris Pine. The casting folks are looking for someone to play the character, “Josh.” Some of the requirements include age 11-13, Caucasian, and able to remember large chunks of dialogue.
