Volunteers in Burbank deliver more than 500 holiday baskets

Hundreds of Burbank area families are enjoying a little extra holiday cheer thanks to the efforts of the annual Holiday Basket Program. It’s a huge effort that targets families with children in Burbank schools. For more than 60 years, the Burbank Coordinating Council  has partnered with local churches, organizations, city employees, community groups and individuals to make the holidays a little merrier for the less fortunate. Pink’s hands out free hot dogs during Toluca Lake holiday event

A lot of holiday cheer and great food at the festive Toluca Lake Holiday Open House , “Let There Be Light,” last night. Pink’s free hot dogs was one of the major attractions. Hundreds lined up for the famous dogs. Pink’s main location is at La Brea and Melrose Avenues in Hollywood, where they have been selling their prized hot dogs since 1939. Mayor’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony today — rain or shine

  Final preparations underway today for the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Burbank. Big crowds usually show up for this yearly event. Start time 6 p.m. The rain is expected to move out by tonight, however, it will be cold — down into the 30s — and windy, gusts up to 22 MPH are expected in the Media City. Be-Boppin’ in Magnolia Park today

Another street party in Burbank today. Be-Boppin’ in the Park is set to get underway at 3 p.m. on Magnolia Boulevard, between Hollywood Way and California Street. This is the fifth year for this festival of vintage and classic cars, music, food, and community scene. They’re expecting somewhere around 15 thousand people to show up for this street party, according to a posting on the Burbank city website.
