Food drive for BTAC at Burbank homecoming games

The Burbank chapter of the National Charity League is sponsoring community food drives at the Burbank High And John Burroughs homecoming games. They’re collecting for the Burbank Temporary Aid Center, which assists needy families and individuals. The football games will be played at Memorial Field on the Burroughs campus. Food collection boxes will be posted at the entrance to Memorial Field. The varsity game between Burbank High and Burroughs is on Friday.

Non-perishable items are needed like rice, canned and dry soups, pastas, cereals, pancake mix, syrup, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, canned meats and tuna. For more information contact Arlina Mayor (818) 818 404-1510 .

Burbank City Federal Credit Union hosts food drive

It’s the season of giving. The Burbank City Federal Credit Union is offering the community the opportunity to drop off donations for the Burbank Temporary Aid Center at its location, 1800 West Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank. Donation boxes are already set up in the lobby, which will be open during business hours 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday.

BTAC helps meet the immediate needs for food and life necessities for the homeless and low-income in the Burbank area.

The need is for non-perishable food and hygiene products. Show your holiday spirit by making a donation to BTAC.

Some suggested items:

peanut butter
jelly
canned meat
canned tuna
canned vegetables
canned fruit
coffee
pancake mix
syrup
ceral
soup
dried pasta
pasta sauce
rice
stuffing mix
sugar
flour
macaroni and cheese
flour

 

toothbrushes
deodorant
toothpaste
laundry detergent
dishwashing liquid
diapers (all sizes)
razors
bathroom tissue
cleaning supplies
towels
wash cloths
paper towels

 

Donations will be collected through Wednesday November 26, 2014.

Make A Difference Day

 

A food drive to help restock the pantries of organization that help those in need in Burbank, like Burbank Temporary Aid Center, Family Services Agency of Burbank, and The Salvation Army of Burbank. Volunteers will be collecting food donations at local markets in the Media City.

Volunteers are needed. Also, you can donate food items. Youth volunteers can earn service hours. To volunteer or for more information call (818) 238-5840
