A shout out to the Tallyrand !

  I dropped by the Tallyrand restaurant at 1700 West Olive Avenue around 4:30 p.m. yesterday for an early dinner. This is usually a slow time for eateries , but to my surprise, the Rand was bustling with activity. The reason: a fundraiser for senior services in Burbank. If a customer requested it, the restaurant management donated 20 per cent of the bill to that cause. “Maple Syrup”  Saturday The community is invited to a big breakfast fundraiser for the Venture Crew 201 Boy Scouts, from 7:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 19, at the Light House (formerly Magnolia Park United Methodist Church) in the Fellowship Hall at 2828 West Magnolia Blvd, Burbank. Outpouring of public support helps gifted L.A. student go to Oxford

Crenshaw High School junior Sharron Pearson’s determination to go to a summer program at Oxford University and  the overwhelming financial support she has received from the public is just such a story.
