First couple meet Queen Elizabeth II

White House photo/Pete Souza   President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle enjoyed a private visit with Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, today at Buckingham Palace. In a gift exchange, the Obamas gave the royals a special video iPod and a rare songbook by American composer Richard Rodgers. The British couple gifted the Obamas with a signed portrait of themselves. President Obama is in London for a series of meetings and the G-20 Summit set to officially get underway tomorrow.
