Sun, clouds, and threat of more thunderstorms today

Burbank got hit with stormy weather yesterday and more could be on the way today. The rain is a welcome splash for the Southland drought courtesy of remnants from former Hurricane Dolores. Weather watchers say moisture from that system is responsible for the thunderstorms and humid conditions. On Saturday the dark clouds opened up several times and dumped rain on the Media City. Hurricane Sandy forces big changes in entertainment

Hurricane Sandy’s hammering of the East Coast has prompted the cancellation of today’s taping of  “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in New York City and two other late night hosts, Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman, taped their shows without audiences today. Broadway shows, movie theaters, and  TV and film productions have shut down due to Sandy as well. Details on .

New York City prepares for the wrath of Irene

In an unprecedented move, New York City has nearly shut down in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Irene today. Despite the dire warnings and evidence of what Irene has done to other parts of the East Coast this weekend, some New Yorkers in places like Coney Island are refusing to leave their homes.
