Number 24, Kobe Bryant, reminded everyone last night what kind of player he has been during his record-setting 20 seasons with the Lakers. During the past few months of his final season, it has seemed many times Bryant was limping into retirement — a shadow of the player he used to be. Laker guard Kobe Bryant to have surgery

The Los Angeles Lakers today announced what many had expected. Kobe Bryant will have shoulder surgery. Some reports are saying this means Bryant is done for the season. Age maybe catching up with the 36 year-old veteran player who has missed a lot of games over the past three seasons due to injuries. Already there is chatter suggesting it’s time for Bryant to hang-up his basketball sneakers and take that walk into retirement. Doctors determine Donald Sterling is “mentally incapacitated”

Yet another new development in the Los Angeles Clippers/Donald Sterling drama. CNN is reporting today that sources are saying banned Clippers owner, Donald Sterling, has been found to be “mentally incapacitated” by two neurologists. The medical diagnosis apparently was the reason Shelly Sterling became the sole trustee of the Sterling Family Trust and able to negotiate that  big money deal for the Clippers yesterday.  Ex-Microsoft executive, Steve Ballmer, beat out all other bidders with a $2 billion offer. New twist in the Donald Sterling/Los Angeles Clippers drama. There are reports now that the embattled billionaire owner of the Clippers has had a change of mind about previous plans to fight the forced sale of the team. NBA puts L.A. Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling on notice

  Today the NBA moved to strip embattled Los Angeles Clippers’ owner, Donald Sterling, of his team. The league put Sterling on notice of the charge against him and what he needs to do to respond, according to a news release issued this afternoon. Donald Sterling is banned for life from the NBA

Justice was swift and powerful today for the embattled owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. During a news conference late this morning, NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, announced Donald Sterling is banned for life from the NBA. The ban is the result of an investigation by the NBA ,which determined it was indeed Sterling who got caught on tape making racist remarks. Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss dies

A lot of sadness in Laker land tonight, as folks come to terms with the passing, earlier today, of team owner, Dr. Jerry Buss. At the age of 80 and reportedly after a long battle with cancer, Buss died this morning at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He was the majority owner of the Lakers and is given credit for being the architect of the basketball franchise’s showtime success. He had a Ph.D in physical chemistry and keen business sense.
