New hacker victims! Sony’s Amy Pascal is heading for the door, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The co-chair of Sony Entertainment, Pascal apparently got hit with the fallout from that major cyber attack from the group calling itself Guardians of Peace — which leaked embarrassing and sensitive company documents as well as threatening havoc if “The Interview” film was release. Layoffs at NBC and Paramount

As the fall season kicks in, several major entertainment companies are trimming their staffs. Some members of the NBC digital team reportedly got the axe yesterday. Here’s more on Deadline. Also, more than a hundred people lost their jobs at Paramount on Tuesday. The job cutbacks hit a number of departments including finance, human resources, and even legal. Republicans go after CNN and NBC over Hillary Clinton projects

  The 2016 presidential race is still several years off, but there is already controversy swirling around one potential candidate and the GOP. Former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, hasn’t officially announced  another run for president, but some Republican Party leaders are so fearful of her candidacy they’re threatening two networks who are developing projects about the ex-First Lady. Jay Leno to exit “The Tonight Show” next February

It’s official “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” will be ending on Thursday, February 6, 2014, according to Deadline.  The talk show’s executive producer, Debbie Vickers, reportedly made the announcement to staffers today. Also, the cast and crew will be paid until Leno’s contract runs out in September 2014. Leno’s replacement, Jimmy Fallon, is set to take over the “Tonight Show” on Monday, February 24. Entertainment Bits: “Fast & Furious 6,” Rick Springfield sells a novel, and NBC’s relief concert for tornado victims

Box office bonanza “Fast & Furious 6 ” burned rubber all over the competition Memorial Day weekend. Not a whole lot of new moves in this sequel, but moviegoers did not care. They love this franchise. “Fast &  Furious 6”  took in $120 million for its debut in the U.S. The top six films helped generate more than $300 million at the domestic box office, beating the previous record for a Memorial Day weekend. NBC’s star-studded live telethon tonight for victims of Sandy

Today the death toll from superstorm Sandy in the U.S. stands at 96 and could still go higher. Four days after Sandy slammed into the East Coast and began a slow march across the northeast, more than three million are still without power and there are reports of shortages of gasoline, food, and other necessities. Hackers breach Nasdaq security The Internet is buzzing today about a report of a hacker attack on Nasdaq OMX Group, the company that runs the U.S. stock exchange and several others around the world. More trouble for NBC: Conan O’Brien rejects new late night scheme

The plot thickens over at troubled NBC. “Tonight Show” host, Conan O’Brien, issued a statement today, in which he turns thumbs down on the NBC plan to give Jay Leno a half-hour comedy show at 11:35 p.m. In the statement, O’Brien claims shifting the  “Tonight Show” to 12:05 a.m. is not an option he can accept:”For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. It’s a mess. That’s about the nicest way to describe the situation that NBC finds itself in right now with three of its talk show hosts, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, and Jimmy Fallon.
