NBC’s popular comedy series, “Parks and Recreation,” is among the winners of the 71st Annual Peabody Awards, one of the most prestigious honors in electronic media. Comcast announces deal with four new minority-owned networks

The nation’s largest cable company, Comcast, announced  a sweeping deal today with four new minority-owned network with some famous names like Earvin “Magic “Johnson, Sean “Diddy”Combs, and filmmaker, Robert Rodriguez. Comcast did not suddenly decide to reach out to minorities. The deal was part of the conditions of last month’s controversial approval by the government of that mega-merger of Comcast/NBC Universal. 2011 Emmy nominations revealed today

Once again HBO is king of the Emmy nominations. The 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were announced today and the pay channel topped the list with 104 — leaving the rest of the networks far behind.  The cabler’s miniseries, “Mildred Pierce,”  a remake of the 1940s classic, scored the most nominations with 21. “Conan” debuts with solid ratings

Former “Tonight Show” Host/Comic, Conan O’Brien, appears to have made a triumphant return to late night TV. “Conan” debuted late night on TBS and according to The Wrap whipped the competition. In the Nielsen’s 56 metered markets, Conan rated a 2.8, Leno got a 2.7 , and Letterman a 2.5. On the TBS website today, the comedy network crowed about the late night talker’s young adult demographics as well.
