“Summer Music Soiree” event in Burbank

A group of talented young musicians are putting on a special event for the community tomorrow night. “Summer Music Soiree” features classical music performed by Burroughs High School sophomore, Maya Paredes and freshman, Ella Jennings, Jordan Middle schooler, Eyen Paredes, and a few of their friends. The concert is free, but organizers are hoping to raise funds to benefit music education in Burbank via the nonprofit group Education Through Music – LA, with a raffle and suggested donation. Under threatening skies yesterday, Burbank on Parade paid tribute to Burbank as “City of the Wild Wild West.” Leading off this year’s parade “Gunfighters for Hire.” The performers were dressed for the period and packing their sidearms. Along the parade route, Keystone Street to Lomita Street on Olive Avenue, these hotheads would settle their disputes with a series of bang, bang, shoot’em ups. The parade spectators loved it! The Burbank International Film Festival is presenting a day of filmmaking seminars and industry panels at Woodbury University 7500 North Glenoaks Boulevard in Burbank  this Saturday, April 25. Fans  of the late comic icon Joan Rivers are snatching up her books. Rivers latest, “Diary of a Mad Diva” jumped from 1, 416 to number 2 on Amazon’s best sellers list since her untimely passing yesterday. Rivers died in a New York hospital surrounded by family and close friends.
