Burbank PD has a new deputy chief

More changes in the Burbank Police Department. The word is Captain Mike Albanese has been promoted to deputy chief. The position opened up last month, after Tom Angel took the job of chief of staff at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Albanese has been a key member of Chief Scott Lachasse’s leadership group since his arrival at the BPD in 2010. Bakersfield Police Officer David Nelson courtesy BUSD

Talk of the Town: Police Officer David Nelson, Joy Forbes, and new child vaccine law

A funeral service will be held later today for former-Burbank police cadet and Bakersfield Police Officer, David Nelson. The 26 year-old former Burbank High School graduate was killed in the line of duty last Friday, when his cruiser crashed during a police pursuit. In a statement from the Burbank Unified School District, Nelson is remembered as “… an intelligent, caring, funny, energetic, and hardworking young man who touched many lives.” The service  for Officer Nelson is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Hall of Liberty  at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills...
