Hillary Clinton campaign raffling off night with the Clooneys

Democratic presidential front-runner, Hillary Clinton, is adding more Hollywood star power to her campaign. The Wrap says Clinton has more Hollywood endorsements “than all the other candidates combined.” Now Tinseltown heavyweight and a long time Democrat, George Clooney, along with his high-powered lawyer wife Amal Clooney, are on board to host fundraisers and a raffle for the former Secretary of State. The Clinton campaign sent out a tweet today about the raffle, which offers winners the opportunity to meet the candidate and the Clooneys... Read More →

I love this place and could spend days here, ah, eating chocolate.   Near Pier 39 boats galore float... Read More →

Novelist and Screenwriter James Dalessandro makes a point. Writer James Dalessandro has been pitching to Hollywood for years and knows how the game is played. Dalessandro shared some of what he has learned with wit, charm and a straight chaser of blunt reality at the Scriptscene mini-conference, July 30, held during the Romance Writers of America 28th Annual Conference in San Francisco. The Bay Area writer has sold a number of pitches, screenplays, and books. In 2004 his epic novel about the great San Francisco earthquake and fire, “1906,” was... Read More →

Cracking the computer keys again

The Golden Gate Bridge a San Francisco landmark I’m back after several days in the gorgeous City by the Bay, San Francisco. I joined more than two thousand folks for the 28th Annual National Romance Writers of America Conference. The soft economy has some markets in publishing struggling; not romance, which is keeping the cash registers humming. Here are some quick statistics. In 2007, romance fiction grabbed the biggest share of the publishing market with more than $1.3 billion in estimated revenue. Also, many of the top selling romances racked... Read More →
