Two suspects arrested in Burbank gang-related shooting

Two suspects arrested last Friday are set to appear in court this week in connection with a Burbank gang-related shooting. The suspects are identified as Erik Manooki,  a 19 year-old alleged gang member from Sunland, and 22 year-old Candice Richardson of Burbank.”It is believed Manooki is the shooter in this case and Richardson instigated the crime as retribution related to a prior gang related incident,” according to Burbank Police Sergeant Claudio Losacco. A Burbank assault suspect is due in court tomorrow in connection with an alleged kidnapping and officer involved shooting. UPDATED: Burbank PD investigating a double shooting

  UPDATED: October 21, 2014 Burbank Police are now calling this a case domestic violence that ended with attempted murder and a suicide. Police discovered a 50 year-old man, who had been fatally shot, in the cab of a tractor- trailer at Affordable Storage in Burbank early yesterday afternoon. A 47 year-old female was found wounded nearby. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Man found shot to death in Burbank parking garage

Burbank Police today are investigating the death of a man who was found in a Downtown Burbank parking garage. The structure at 651 North San Fernando is near the Chevy’s and California Pizza Kitchen restaurants. Police responded to the scene early this morning and discovered a male victim in a vehicle “.. in a secluded area,” according to a Burbank PD news release. Funeral services set for the father of Assemblyman Mike Gatto

Preparation are underway for the funeral of Joseph Gatto, the father of Assemblyman Mike Gatto. The assemblyman’s office announced the services will be this coming Monday, November 25, 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church ,2060 North Vermont Avenue, in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. A private reception and graveside burial will follow the funeral mass, according to a news release. Judge hands down stiff sentence to killer of a Burbank police officer

A collective sigh of relief in B-town today after the killer of Burbank Police Officer, Matthew Pavelka, was sentenced to life in prison, without the possibility of parole, as part of a plea bargain to avoid the death penalty. This morning during a hearing, 28-year-old David Garcia reportedly pleaded guilty to first degree murder in the shooting death of Officer Pavelka and attempted murder, for the wounding of Burbank Police Officer Gregory Campbell. President Obama meets victims of Colorado theater shooting

President Obama visited some of the victims of that tragic theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado and their families yesterday. At the University of Colorado Hospital, Obama chatted with victim Allie Young and hugged her friend Stephanie Davies — who is credited with keeping Young alive after she was shot. Twelve moviegoers were killed and around 58 wounded when a gunman sprayed a darkened theater with gunfire early last Friday.
