Burbank Grocery Outlet open for business

A new grocery market opened this morning in Burbank. The Grocery Outlet calls itself the bargain market. It took over the old Fresh & Easy location at 1615 West Verdugo Avenue. There are reportedly more than 260 Grocery Outlets in California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington. Most are “independently operated by locally-based families,” according to the company website. The Burbank store has been under construction for several weeks. Columbus Day a holiday for some, but not all

Columbus Day is a holiday for some, but not all. Some of the folks enjoying a holiday are those who work for city, county, federal offices, libraries and Superior Courts. This means the U.S. Postal Service is closed with some pick-ups of mail, but no regular deliveries today.  However, most state offices, including the Department of Motor Vehicles, are open.
