Summer is back in full swing. Another hot day in Burbank. The temperature rose quickly this morning. Before 10 a.m. it was into the 80s. Some weather predictions are saying mid-to-upper 90s for the high in the Media City on this Monday. However, it feels like we’re headed for triple digits — so take precautions to stay cool.

After blistering hot weekend, cooler temps on the way

A lot of record-breaking heat in Burbank over the past few days, but a cooling trend, ever so slight, is expected to kick in today. Yesterday, the temperature soared to 100 in B-town — tied the previous record set on October 11 in 1971.  Also, a record high temperature of 104 set in Burbank on Friday — broke an old record of 101 set in 1976. Triple digit heat in Burbank today

Summer-like temperatures returned with a vengeance today. At 2 p.m. it was 102 in the Media City. Some weather watchers are saying it could get even hotter — before the day is done. Temperatures are sizzling throughout the Southland. The National Weather Service says the heat and the drought conditions could mean trouble: “The combination of hot and dry weather… and gusty northeast winds will create heightened fire danger in the mountains and valleys of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties today.” Lows tonight in Burbank... Still hot today in Burbank, cooler temps predicted

Another hot and sunny day in Burbank, but a cooling trend has kicked in. However, don’t expect a serious drop in the temps on this the second day of summer. By the end of last week, the Media City was sizzling with highs in the 90s. For the next few days, the weather watchers are predicting afternoon temps in the 80s for B-town. Hmm, it’s already 82 in Burbank at 11 a.m. — hopefully, the cooling trend has not stalled.

Cloudy skies and rain in Burbank

Cloudy skies over Burbank on this Sunday morning. Some light rain began shortly after 10 a.m. A storm system is expected to linger over the Southland today and that could mean raindrops during the 2015 Academy Awards ceremony and hoopla in Hollywood. A steady rain is in the forecast for this evening and overnight. Cooler temperatures for the Media City with the high only in the 50s. So you’ll probably need a jacket or sweater as well  as an umbrella.

Warm weather through Valentine’s Day weekend for Burbank

Get out the shorts, flip-flops, and don’t forget the sunglasses. At 11:15 a.m. in the Media City the temperature hit 79 degrees. It’s going to get even hotter — well into the 80s. The forecast is for this mini-winter heat wave to linger through Valentine’s Day weekend. Strong winds and warm temps in Burbank, Southland this weekend

Very strong winds whipped and howled through Burbank this morning. Winds died down to light breezes shortly after 9 a.m., but a wind advisory for the Media City and many other parts of the Southland remains in effect through 3 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. Wind with gusts from 35 to 55 mph are expected in Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, including coastal and valley areas. Major change in weather, cloudy skies and mild temps today

What a difference a week makes. Overcast skies and temperatures in the 60s this morning in Burbank. The sun broke through this afternoon and the high could reach the upper 80s. Last Saturday, it was scorching hot — the kick-off to a mini-heat wave, which delivered triple digit temps for several days to the Media City another other parts of the Southland. Another scorcher in Burbank today

     Another scorcher in Burbank today. More triple digit temperatures coming our way. Yesterday, the high reached 102 in the Media City. It could be that hot or even hotter today. An excessive heat warning remains in effect for the San Fernando Valley until 7 p.m. tomorrow. Burbank isn’t the only place sizzling in the heat. Most of the  Southland is in the grips of a mini-heat wave. Even the beaches will remain warm — with 80 degree temps. Cooler weather expected by mid-week.

Very hot Sunday in Burbank

It’s going to be seriously hot in the Media City today. The temperatures have been climbing for the past several days. The high yesterday reached 99 degrees. Today the temperature is expected to soar into the triple digits. At 9:30 this morning it was already in the mid-80s. Humidity is down and so are the temperatures in Burbank

  Humidity and temperatures have taken a dip in the Media City. That humidity has dropped below 50 percent and the temps have plunged from the 90s to the 70s and 80s. Normally, August in Burbank means at least upper 80s and 90s. Right now, we’re experiencing a bit of a cooling trend. The high today might reach 81 or so. Temperatures starting to sizzle in Burbank

  Temperatures are starting to sizzle in Burbank and throughout the Southland today. By 10 a.m. this morning, it was 81 degrees in the Media City. Since then, the temperature has climbed into the 90s.  At 2 p.m, it’s 87 in West Hollywood, 82 at Venice Beach, and nearing 100 in Lancaster. The hot temperatures are expected to linger through next week. A little slow in coming, but summer has apparently arrived in SoCal.

Partly cloudy skies and cool temps in Burbank

Lots of clouds in the sky along with sunshine and cool temperatures in Burbank. It’s a little breezy, too. A dramatic change from last Tuesday, when we were in the middle of a spring heat wave and the temperatures were in the 90s by noon. Today we’ll be lucky to reach the low 70s.     Hot Monday in Burbank. Before 11 a.m., the temperature already in the low 80s and on the rise. The high today in the  Media City expected to be in the upper 80s, but could soar into the 90s.   Get out the umbrellas, hats, and sunglasses! The Media City is sizzling today with temperatures in the upper 80s before 10:30 a.m. When that happens you know it’s going to be a hot one in B-town. Also, the weather may get a little weird– there’s a 20- 25 percent chance of rain — even some thunderstorms in the forecast. The high today in Burbank — low to upper 90s, but don’t be surprised if we hit triple digits.

Heat wave continues: Another excessive heat warning

A relentless heat wave continues to bake Burbank and the rest of the Southland. A hot air mass is hovering over the region. An excessive heat warning went into effect this morning through late evening for portions of the valleys and mountains in So Cal. Yesterday the high hit 100 again in B-town and we can expected it to be just as hot today. At 11 a.m., the temperature was already 90! So the heat is very much on in the Media City.

Heat watch in the Southland: Cooling centers open in Burbank

The temperatures are soaring in the Southland and that has prompted an excessive heat watch for Los Angeles County. Today in Burbank the high reach 100! The weather is expected to remain very hot with an increase in humidity; these factors will create “… a prolonged period of well above normal and possibly dangerous heat beginning Wednesday and continue through Friday,” according to the National Weather Service.
