UPDATED:Threat of severe weather and possible tornadoes in parts of U.S.

  UPDATED 9:43 a.m.: Wednesday, May 22, 2013 A band of thunderstorms is moving through the southern states of Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi headed east today. The thunderstorms produced damaging winds and hail in parts of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi yesterday. The day before, Monday, the powerful weather system sent a deadly tornado plowing through Moore, Oklahoma, leaving a 17 mile trail of destruction. A call for a probe into a Hollywood movie about Osama bin Laden

A New York congressman is calling for an investigation into what kind of “cooperation” the Obama administration provided for a movie about the take down of 9-11 terrorist mastermind, Osama bin Laden. Director Kathryn Bigelow is partnering with screenwriter Mark Boal on this bin Laden film. Apparently, the filmmakers are being accused of getting “special access” and classified information —  allegedly including data on the Navy Seal Team 6 raid which resulted in the death of bin Laden. Garden harvest at the White House

Earlier this spring, First Lady Michelle Obama and a team of young gardeners planted tons of fruits, veggies, and flowers in a plot on the White House grounds. This organic kitchen garden is now providing a serious haul of healthy eats. More than 90 pounds of produce has been harvested from this garden so far, according to the White House blog. First Lady Michelle Obama and about two dozen elementary school volunteers broke ground for a kitchen garden last Friday. The kids and the First Lady appeared pretty handy with the shovels, pitchforks, and rakes.
