As expected, Charter announced its deal to buy Time Warner Cable today. In a news released posted on the Charter website, the company says the deal is valued at $78.7 billion. Time Warner in trouble with city of Los Angeles and Dodger fans

Time Warner Cable is in deep, deep trouble in the Southland. Today L.A. City Attorney, Mike Feuer, announced the filing of a multi-million-lawsuit against the area’s largest cable provider. The suit alleges the cable giant has “stiffed” the city of Los Angeles $10  million in franchise fees at a time when it was raking in billions from its customers. “That money would have funded 100 police officers and miles of sidewalk repair,”  Feuer is quoted on Deadline as saying during a news conference today. Super Bowl XLV111 redux: Record ratings, fab halftime, and Time Warner blackout make good

It was not the showdown many had hoped for, still it turned into the highest rated event  ever on American TV . The Seattle Seahawks ran all over the Denver Broncos in a one-sided game  — final score 43-8.
