Update on Burbank town hall meeting

At last night’s city council meeting, Burbank Mayor, Dr. David Gordon, asked for an update on the release of the video of  the October 21, 2014 town hall meeting. Public information officer, Drew Sugars, announced that town hall meeting would be up on the city website this Saturday, November 1. There’s been a lot of chatter on the Internet and around B-town about the long delay in making a video of that meeting available to the public.

The second Burbank Water and Power town hall is tomorrow. This is a chance for Burbank residents to go on the record and let the utility officials know how they feel about plans to raise the rates again. Burbank Water and Power is community owned, therefore, its first priority should be the needs and concerns of its customers. The town hall will be... Read More →

Official White House Photo by Pete Souza — President Barack Obama chats with the Dalai Lama at the White House. The meeting took place in the Map Room instead of the Oval Office, an apparent concession to China, who objected to the president’s meeting with the exiled and highly revered leader.  02/18/10 White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs described the meeting this way: “The President met this morning at the White House with His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama.  The President stated his strong support for the preservation of Tibet’s unique religious, cultural and linguistic identity and...
