Record heat in the Southland

How hot is it? So hot that the sun loving flowers in my Burbank yard are wilting. Yesterday, the temperature climbed  to 109 degrees in the Media City. Even at 8 p.m. last night is was still 100. UPDATED: Hot temperatures and cool yogurt treats in Burbank

 UPDATED: 3:40 p.m.  At 1 p.m., it was 106 in the Media City. “Wall Street 2” scores top money at the Box Office

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is cracking down on corruption in the city of Bell. Yesterday the mayor, Oscar Hernandez, and seven other current and former Bell officials were arrested by police and D.A. investigators.
