Painted Lady butterflies spotted in Burbank. Clusters of the black, white, and orange butterflies fluttered about in the Media District, near Edison Road and Alameda Avenue, on Friday, March 8. Our extremely wet winter produced a galore of flowering plants. That attracted swarms of Painted Lady butterflies to the SouthLand . They reportedly can travel up to 100 miles a day during their migration from the U.S./Mexico border to as far north as Oregon.
