Record breaking weather in Burbank as blistering heat wave continues through Labor Day weekend. Yesterday in the Media City, the temperature soared to 108 shattering a record of 106 degrees on August 31 set back in 2007. The heat wave kicked off at the beginning of the week. The high today in B-town expected to hit triple-digits again.
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning , which remains in effect until tomorrow, Saturday at 10 p.m., for many Southland areas including Burbank and the rest of the San Fernando Valley. Meanwhile, Burbank declared the Buena Vista and Central libraries as cooling centers open to the public. Details on the days and hours of each location here.
