Burbank High School is the new site of the Elevate Burbank Multicultural Arts Festival on Saturday Aug. 20. Kudos to the Burbank Unified School District Board for stepping up and making this happen. Nevertheless, it is disappointing to hear foot dragging by the Burbank City Attorney’s Office pretty much derailed the initial plan to host the free, family-friendly event in Johnny Carson Park. Talk of the Town: A stare-down at Burbank City Hall ends

The stare-down between the Burbank City Attorneys Association and the Burbank City Council is over. The association blinked. City Hall sent out a news release yesterday saying: “Representatives of the BCAA advised the City Manager by letter on July 17, 2014, that their group is disbanding effective immediately and is withdrawing a lawsuit and several complaints with the Public Employees Relations Board (PERB)” Also, the release is posted on the Burbank City website. Burbank Election News: Ballots, campaign sign theft, and city council candidate speaks out

Ballots coming in fast and furious On the day before Election Tuesday, the Burbank City Clerk’s Office has already received more ballots than were cast in the previous General Election. In 2011, 8,866 ballots were cast. City Clerk, Zizette Mullins, told me today that the ballot count jumped to 8,796 last Saturday. Today, 200 more ballots came in, bringing the total to 8,996.
