Burbank city clerk responds to election questions and concerns

The election taking center stage in Burbank right now is the 2017 General Election. Four candidates are battling it out for two seats on the city council. They are incumbents Dr. David Gordon and Bob Frutos, and challengers Juan Guillen and Sharon Springer. Councilman/Mayor, Jess Talamantes, won re-election in the primary. Election News: Burbank primary, ballot count, and drop-off centers

While the candidates are out getting in some final hours of campaigning, the Burbank City Clerk’s Office is gearing up for next Tuesday’s primary election. Seven candidates are running for two open seats on the city council. They are Juan Guillen, David Nos, Chris Rizzotti, Will Rogers, Sharon Springer, Elise Stearns- Niesen, and incumbent Emily Gabel-Luddy. Election News: Ballots, drop-off centers, and political ads

Burbank City Clerk, Zizette Mullins, attended the Burbank Coordinating Council meeting/luncheon yesterday to spread the word about the upcoming Burbank Primary. Last election only 18 percent of the registered voters returned their mail in ballots. In order to improve that low percentage, Mullins told the group “I need your help” in order to make voters aware of the February 24, 2015 Burbank  Primary Election. Burbank Election News: Ballots, campaign sign theft, and city council candidate speaks out

Ballots coming in fast and furious On the day before Election Tuesday, the Burbank City Clerk’s Office has already received more ballots than were cast in the previous General Election. In 2011, 8,866 ballots were cast. City Clerk, Zizette Mullins, told me today that the ballot count jumped to 8,796 last Saturday. Today, 200 more ballots came in, bringing the total to 8,996. Keep a lookout for your election ballot

Burbank Primary Nominating Election ballots were delivered to the post office today and postal carriers will be dropping them in mailboxes, all across the city, over the next few days. Burbank Deputy City, Clerk Susan Domen, says there are around 60, 000 ballots — one for each registered voter in B-town. The ballot packet includes a postage prepaid return envelope.
