Burbank float wins major award at 2023 Rose Parade

Wow! Burbank did it again. The City of Burbank won the Queen Trophy for the most outstanding presentation of roses in the 134th Rose Parade today. The Burbank Tournament of Roses Association submitted, “Adventure Awaits.” This year’s parade theme, “Turning the Corner.” Former Arizona Congressmember, Gabby Gifford, did the honors as Grand Marshal. Gifford made an incredible recovery from traumatic injuries to become an activist. Burbank’s history of participating in the Roses Parade goes back to 1914. Rose Parade float winner on display in Burbank today. “Rise Up” won the 2020 Leishman Public Spirit Award for the most outstanding floral presentation from a non-commercial float builder in the 131st Tournament of Roses Parade, on Wednesday, January 1. Burbank float a winner in 2018 Rose Parade

The Burbank Rose Parade float came up a winner in Pasadena today. The 2018 entry, “Sand-Sational Helpers,” won the Founder Award for most outstanding float built and decorated by volunteers from a community or organization. The float showcases recycling with the depiction of sea creatures doing their share. The theme of the 129th Rose Parade was “Making a Difference.” There were 50 entries in the 2018 Burbank Float design contest. Spectators get close up view of award-winning Burbank Rose float

If you want to get a close up look at the 2015 award-winning Burbank Rose Parade float, you need do it pretty soon. “Jungle Rescue”  picked up the Past President’s Award on New Year’s Day  for most creative design and use of both floral and non-floral materials. Hundreds of volunteers spent a lot of hours working on the float. Among them, 8 year-old Andrew Podbelski who was at the float viewing at Glenoaks Boulevard and  Olive Avenue yesterday. Burbank float “Jungle Rescue” wins award in 2015 Rose Parade

Burbank Tournament of Roses Association has much to cheer about on this New Year’s Day. For the sixth straight year, the Burbank Rose Parade float has won an award. Repeat! Burbank Rose Parade float wins Fantasy trophy

A spectacular event in Pasadena today as the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade thrilled millions on T.V. and on city streets.  At least a million fans reportedly lined the parade route to see energetic marching bands, gleaming vintage vehicles, high-stepping equestrian units and of course, beautifully decorated floats. Only a few more hours to view Burbank’s superb entry into the 2012 Tournament of Roses Parade.
