Person of interest arrested in Burbank school theft case

A person of interest has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft of money and a credit card from a teacher’s purse at Bret Harte Elementary School in Burbank . A week ago yesterday, Burbank Police released photos of the suspect and her vehicle and asked for the public’s help in tracking down the woman described in a news release only as “African-American, 30 to 40 years old. ” The news release and photos had a huge impact. Photos of Burbank school suspect released

Today Burbank Police released photos in connection with a theft at Bret Harte Elementary School  3200 Jeffries Avenue. The suspect described as an African-American female, 30-40, reportedly appeared on the school grounds two weeks ago, Wednesday, October 7, between 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.”Once on campus, the suspect walked into an unoccupied classroom. She stole a credit card and money from a teacher’s purse. The suspect later used the credit card to make purchases at stores in Glendale and Burbank, ” according to a news release sent out today. A shout out to Burbank Unified School District officials

Quick action by some officials in the Burbank Unified School District have turned a call out into a shout out for some watering issues at David Starr Jordan Middle School, 420 South Mariposa Street. Burbank school officials got called out on  Media City Groove for watering the front lawn at Jordan on a hot Labor Day, two weeks ago. Call-out : A Burbank school waters on Monday in the heat

Outdoor watering restrictions are in effect in Burbank, but apparently at David Starr Jordan Middle School on South Mariposa Street they’re not following city rules. As I walked by the school campus at around 11 a.m. today, I noticed some sprinklers spraying steady streams of water on a lawn section dotted with some young trees.The temperature at the time was 80 and climbing on a hot Labor Day.
